Standard discs for now but when they are due a change (Probably a way off) I will then change discs too. Although hard to judge as they are bedding in already the brake pedal feels lighter and more responsive. All in all making a nicer drive less force required. Equally they are brand new so...
Will see how it goes. Thumbs Up No Guts, No Glory.

I've recent had a full set of Paddocks High Performance drilled & slotted discs fitted, along with Greenstuff pads following geoblokes recent fitting.

Had a bit of an issue the other day on an all day trip, went down a very steep long hill. ( Porlock Hill) got down okay but brakes were smelling and had severe brake fade by the time I got to the bottom. Pretty much had to stop or go very slow for a while to let them cool obviously heat issue and only had this once, when new discs are required upgraded discs for cooling I think will be needed. What is the average service life of standard discs? No Guts, No Glory.

I am running Mintex in both my 90 and my wife's Freelander and really like them.

Prevsiouly I was running Lucas pads in the 90 but didn't like them so they were replaced when they barely one third worn (I think the problem was that they were so hard that they WEREN'T wearing), the Freelander was still on the original pads but likewise, they were only half worn.
In both cases, after the initial bedding in the braking has certainly improved over how it was and I will stick with Mintex from now on.

Had Greentuff on my wife's MGF which she owned many years ago, seem to recall they were a nice pad. ONE LIFE, GET IT!

Disc life depends on how they are worked, the minimum thickness should be cast into the disc somewhere but of course if a disc is marked / blued or cracked then it should be replaced but that is easy enough to do. How old is the fluid?

Brake fade is not unknown, are yours solid or vented on the front?
My 90 was originally solid but I upgraed to vented some time ago, not because I really needed to but just because I could. ONE LIFE, GET IT!

I used to use DS11 pads with the 4 pot calipers on my old MK2 RS, for some reason, not for road use but very little brake dust. Are these GreenStuff pads similar ? ie Low dust

Brake fluid is relatively fresh, solid standard discs on mine so I think it's an excess heat thing where vented discs would dissipate heat better the solid discs don't. Of course they were already warm anyway after running pretty much all day driving anyway. I must admit its a little worrying though when you brake and it's like braking on jelly. Surprised No Guts, No Glory.

BP - Cant say I've really noticed any dust, but they have cleaned and conditioned the disc surface though. Saying that the is probably likely to happen anyway. No Guts, No Glory.

I recently changed mine all round at 48k,still life in them but the calipers and pads were rotted and seized,if your on non vented it's fairly cheap to buy vented calipers (cheaper than non vented??),you will see a benefit.I greased the pistons with (plenty of) proper silicon grease when I fitted 4x new calipers.
I used AP discs and pads (oem I believe),but not bought from the stealers.
