Harley like a Land Rover?

No more like my CCM

British built

Dubious build quality

Has had several different owners over the years

Suspect reliability

Lously aerodynamics

But

Does what it was designed without question

Easy for the home mechanic to fix and modify

Puts a huge grin on my face everytime I go out on it!

OK so I have a Beemer too, as does the Mrs. (F800GS & F800R)

Power Upgrades!

But How many KW after BAS remap????? and torque????

I am a new member and this apart from my 'Introduction' is my first post. I have had an Autologic ECU upgrade carried out on mine, power went up from 119BHP to 149BHP and torque from 314NM to 393NM. The 82-84MPH limiter has also gone as part of the upgrade. (Other upgrades can advertise extra cost for removal of the limiter). Here is the linky thingy for those that may be interested or have a different Land Rover together with graphs.

The drive is awesome, I also capped it off with an ITG Performance Filter and the induction noise is great!

It was also explained to me that many 'plug and play' variants of upgrade merely 'fool' the ECU into thinking the fuel inlet boost pressure is lower than it effectively is;- The result is that you have a power upgrade that is achieved merely by throwing more fuel at the engine. I have noticed an approximate 15-20% increased fuel consumption but the temptation to 'rag it' is never far from my mind. In hard driving conditions the consumption is as it was prior to the reprogramme. With regards to the garage overwriting your upgrade you get a unique number that allows you to get the programme reinstalled by any Autologic dealer at minimal or indeed no cost at all in that eventuality. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

what about upgrading the turbo slightly larger and intercooler slightly larger then give the computer a tune on the dyno machine,
or you could change the gearing inside the differentials to 3.73:1 giveing a better take off again.

the defender should have a v6 twin turbo diesel engine idealy, thats my opinion or modification and my idea(c)

What do you guys think about changing the gearing inside the diffs. for better take off ? good ? bad ? indifferent ?

Anyone tried combining BAS with an intercooler upgrade? Would it effectively need to be re-tuned to get the most from it?

I had the larger intercooler, 3" exhaust AND chip on my TD5 - it was incredible.

Don't really want to 'hack' my new Puma too much though, so if the BAS box alone is the business then that'll do ! Gavster
