Just a little follow up, this definately took away some of the vibration but there's still something else only on acceleration so checking the uj's next. I've got the new injector loom but don't know weather to seal the plugs as suggested in other threads just in case something needs removing at a later date, so maybe I should just replace it every couple of years I don't know, decisions decisions!! The power almost seems to be getting better and smoother since cleaning out the ecu so maybe the ecu gets used to a proper signal or maybe it's just my imagination Ray |

I just put sealant in the top of the plugs. Don't seal them onto the top of the injectors. I put the sealant on the day before I fitted it. After doing this, I still plan on replacing it every 2 years. 2002 110 td5

Ahhhh, now I've got the loom in front of me I think I understand where to pit the sealer. Is this the place?

Yes. I just gummed up the back of the black plugs, making sure it squidged (if that is a word!) around the two wires. I can't remember whether I put some in the top of the bigger plug that goes through the head, but if oil can settle on top of it I would apply silicone 2002 110 td5

Cheers I'll do the top of the big plug too then the oil should be stopped going up the core of the wire and through any insulation at the plug!

For just the bonnet bit it was £20 to blast off the old paint, zinc coat and then powder coat so not too bad really.

I've been busy today and fitted my bonnet chequer plate.
Click image to enlarge So that's the hole in the bonnet (that the previous owner drilled) covered and hopefully no more squeaky belts when it's rained Just one problem though the bolts for the front were a bit long so I thought "I'll get shorter ones next week when I have time it fit them" but the bonnet now won't open as I presume the bolts are touching the slam panel and have pushed the bonnet slightly out of place so loads of messing about now to get it open!!! Why can't any job go smoothly? Ray Last edited by mk1collector on 10th Sep 2017 10:23pm. Edited 4 times in total |

cheers chaps I don't think there will be much more happening this year apart from maybe wiring up the heated front screen and mirrors and maybe some dinitrol but I've gots lots more plans so if I've got the spare cash next year might have some good updates.
