Ford Prefect 107E, which was a Prefect body fitted with the Ford Anglia ohv engine 997cc. Bored out to 1100cc, lowered suspension, radial tyres, SU carb. Would just do the ton as confirmed on the M4 in 1968 before the national speed limit.
Followed by a red Hillman Hunter 1725cc. Happy Days LANDYWATCH Neighbourhood Watch for Land Rover Owners http://www.landywatch.co.uk/smf2/index.php |

Vauxhall Viva HC, my Dad bought it for me as a complete basket case and it needed welding up, body panels replacing/repairing and respraying. I rebuilt it over a period of around a year, with a lot of help, and it was my pride and joy. Sadly it died in a fire a few years later and it was a long time before I got another car as good in my eyes, probably until I rebuilt my first Land Rover in fact.
It kind of set the pattern for most of the vehicles I've had ever since, especially the Land Rovers ! http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/ |

My first car was a Triumph Dolomite Sprint in British Racing green that I bought 6 weeks after my 17th birthday, the day after I passed my test.
First Land Rover was a blue 1984 90, 2.5l petrol that I bought in 1987, three years after the Sprint and I've owned Land Rovers of some sort ever since |

1973 Series III swb.
Click image to enlarge It was sold in about 2007. Other than the 1-Ton and the 110, I have had a Citroen AX, a Peugeot 106 and a brand new Fiat Panda. I now only have Land-Rovers, Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Mine was a Series 2 88" Soft Top. Since then, I've never not had a Land Rover shaped Land Rover, and occasionally more than one!)
