Another way to check for head gasket problem is leave the vehicle overnight to cool.
In the morning remove the radiator cap & start engine & check for air bubbles in the radiator. Wink

I assume the chequer plate is riveted on ??? if so just drill out the rivets remove & have them powder coated/painted

Did you fit a new radiator cap of just fire the old one back on?
It maintains a fixed pressure in the cooling system, and if does not do so it will lower the boiling point ...

I agree, that looks great!


A friend has suggested tractor paint (ironically appropriate), I think the colours may be limited a bit though. Ferguson grey, John Deere green, ford blue or JCB yello ...
