A good TD5 should not need glow plugs, i would suspect fuel pump or pressure regulator if its a fuel issue. Crank sensor is a possibility maybe??

I would not class that as a bulge. It’s deflection due to load which i cannot see being a fail.

If you are running the standard transfer box ratio 55-60 mph is probably the best speed.

Even with a the 1.2 ratio 55-60 is a happy speed and should return approx 30 mpg UK.
