Well that's a bit of a rant. Thank you!
I really beg to differ. We are only now going through the trouble of starting a new organization and setting up shop in the EU exactly because we have experienced firsthand how much of a PITA shipping between the UK and the EU is. We tried to live with the situation until it became unbearable. And why in f... name should Germany have exorbitant shipping costs? DHL is German! I (or Expedition Parts) will ship you an IIDTool for €12 in 3 days insured. And if you have any issues - very rare with the IIDTool but not completely unheard of - you can return just as painlessly. The price of the IIDTool at retailers in the EU such as Expedition Parts was quite a bit higher because of this. If you follow the link I posted, you'll see that it's now quite a bit less (and German law dictates that the VAT is included in displayed prices). If you look at the costs from Pete, which are slightly too low at the moment for reasons I am not going to get into here, plus 20% French VAT plus shipping and handling at the border, the savings are negligible. Plus the headaches and the wait - both of which are not infrequent. We are in the process of finding partners in France as well as the rest of Europe. If all goes well, in the coming months most Europeans will not have to order outside of their own country and prices will be the same. I'm on the road to do the exact same refitment. I'm still acquiring parts. Did you buy any cables or are those already installed/not needed when you add the camera to the fin? Thanks for the insight.

hello, okay,
the power harness to the mirror should be identical, no modifications, we just need to add a video coaxial cable, from the green antenna connector, to the mirror (black connector). I ordered a camera cable repair kit, which from the diagram looks like the correct one, let's see what I get....... I will run the coaxial cable with a guide from the back to the front, under the roof. once this is done, only the antenna assembly and coding remain. Good luck!! Eagerly awaiting your results. I'll start looking into that cable. I dove thru the Workshop manual and couldn't find anything. Thanks for those photos. Those helped a lot.

Couple of questions from someone who has just got the GAP tool.
1/ can you turn off the fog light illumination when you use the indicators, as l think it's stupid. 2/ Can l stop the headlights from coming on every time l drive under a tree on a dull day? l can disable it with the headlights switch but then it starts doing it again. Hello, I have sccessed retrofitting external SIM card slot with IIDTool.
At first, ofcourse you need the hardwere LR146789 if you want to do it. Two ccf settings below were required to use external SIM card slot. MultiCAN-468 FrontAVIOPanel to "Mid Line fitted with SIM (USB with OTG, and SIM)" MultiCAN-812 PIVI SIM Type to "PSIM" and also Wi-Fi Hotspot if you want. After enabling thease settings, you can edit the mobile network setting in Connectivity for your SIM with custom network provider(APN). In addition, it seems that viechle is not SIM lock free, at least in Japan I couldn't use any other SIM card except provided from NTT DOCOMO. |

Nice addition northeye! I'm starting to think we need a wiki for all of this. 20MY Defender 110 Fuji White
