Today I mostly;
Replaced gearbox the oil after 2 years of use with fresh MT94 from Smith and Allen oils Gear box oil refilled using an electric pump ![]() Click image to enlarge Replaced transfer case oil Replaced the foam seal between the heater blower motor and the air intake in the wing as the old had mostly gone missing. Finally fit the new rear door I bought about 2 years ago. As you can see it was rather due. Also added a Nakatanenga strut too which I’m not sure if it’s worth the cost - but I do need longer door bolts before I decide that. Just need to finish the hinges and glass retaining, then pick up a spare wheel carrier and fit some sound proofing.

Picked it up from the shop after an LOF clutch kit fitment, drives super well now.
Got back home after a 100km trip to a meeting, and now the heater matrix is leaking. Again. There's a lot of stuff to take off to get the front diff out. I have been waiting for a dry day for what seems like ages. Seems like a good time to break out the wire brush, paint and janoguard to me... You have taken off a lot more than is strictly necessary, but it is easier to do it in this manner if you have the time. For an emergency diff swap, just disconnect the nearside end of the drag link, both ends of the tie rod, the front end of the front propshaft, and then unbolt the swivel balls from the axle end and pull the entire swivel hub/stub axle/brake/roadwheel assembly about three inches out from the axle. Then drop and replace the diff. Takes about an hour on a good day! ![]() The only hazards are (1) not straining the brake hoses when the swivel hub is overtaken by gravity, and (2) not crippling yourself trying to get the hub assemblies out and then in, they are spectacularly heavy (a shovel under the road wheel helps for this task). |

You are not wrong Blackwolf. That is the other way to do this, but I wanted to check on the CV, half shaft and stub axles as they are a 1/4 of a million miles old now...

Well apparently there is a huge backlog of orders and my diff is going to take up to 4 weeks to be built up and arrive... On the bright side I guess the technicians will have had loads of experience by the time they get to mine
