You can download the manual from here
https://www.gap-diagnostic.com/support/documents/IIDTool/ If you already have the tool drop Patrick at Gap ( https://www.defender2.net/forum/member-patgapinnov.html ) a line and ask to be added onto the beta test. If you are buying an IID tool just make sure it is the Gen 3 one which is the latest. There are some videos on Youtube about using the IID tool but none that I can find specific to the new Defender https://www.youtube.com/results?search_que...land+rover The support from Gap and Patrick in particular is second to none and you can also ask any questions in here and I'm sure somebody will be able to help you  Cheers Ian

When you go into car config, you're given a list of possible values each time you open a setting. Most of the time it's something like "Enabled" or "Disabled"..."Fitted" or "Not Fitted". Other times it's a list of known possible values with more detail.
You'll get the hang of it. Just be careful what you change...I've had a few close calls where I basically bricked it for a while.  The good thing is that the IID tool makes a backup of your first ccf load and you can restore back if needed. phew! 20MY Defender 110 Fuji White |

Hey folks.
Getting my IIDtool hopefully tomorrow. Drive a D250 XS MY23.5, Pivi Software still on version 3.2.1 All Terrain Progess Control and Terrain Respone Automatic 2 and Terrain Response Configurable was in the Offroadplus package, which my car has. It has also the advanced tow assist from factory So I might help, with an "original" cff dump were these could be looked after. I bought the car "on site", so not my individual config. So I'm missing Adaptive Cruise Control and I'm really interessted to get it to work, if the radar sensor is build in (hopefully). But I think I'll start with some simple things... Wifi Hot Spot and Dynamic Mode + Dynamic config As I read, these are "simple hacks" Other things I like to look after are: - get the Start/Stop configurable, so it stays in the last selected mode. - get the rear door unlock AND pop open with the fob, now it only unlocks Greetings Matt |

Louis-C the IID tool is locked to one VIN so you can't activate things on other peoples cars unless you buy the IID Pro tool. The Pro tool is rather expensive and I'm not sure whether GAP have released a beta for the pro tool yet

To give you an idea of how to modify settings this is a very easy one, it enables the 007 James Bond start up screen which was on the 007 Defenders. It's a bit naff and only stays on the screen for a couple of seconds but this will give you some idea of how the tool works

It would be so cool if we could personalise the display. Would love my logo to be on it. I’m sure someone will crack it eventually.
On a separate note, I have tow assist. Terrain progress, and the fancy cruise control, sorry I forget all the fancy names. What else is there? I have been thinking of ordering one of these tools. Thanks! That was really helpful to see. Just so I'm really clear: (1) Upload CCF; (2) turn the car off for 15 min; (3) and manually reboot Pivi. Right? |

Yes that's correct, after your have uploaded the modified CCF file, disconnect the IID tool and switch the car off, lock it up and leave it for approx 15 mins. Some people have their activations appear without having to reboot Pivi, but on mine they do not appear until I have done the reboot so I left that step in. When you first plug your tool into the car the app takes a back-up of your original CCF file so you always have a way back to standard if you need it. Please bear in mind that the software is still in Beta so somethings may not work at the moment and everything is done at your own risk but if anything does go wrong Patrick at Gap provided 1st class support.

possible features/values, we perhaps get a list of possible features/values together ... My device was supposed to be delivered today, but it looks like it may be delayed a couple of days. If I figure anything else out, I will contribute to the list. Few questions: 1. Did you apply each change individually? Or did you do everything at once (e.g., 007, Wifi hotspot, and Dynamic Mode)? 2. I read earlier in the thread that folks were having difficulty with Adaptive Cruise Control. Has anyone figured that out yet? |
