My 2.4 had started holding the revs for a second or two when going to change gear, I have ordered a new maf and map sensor. Is this likely to be my problem. Thanks

Probably not - usual suspect for that is the switch on the clutch master cylinder. Rgds.

Just cleaned my MAP this morning, it was covered in muck. Engine runs a lot sweeter now, and some of hesitation seems to have gone.

I replaced the VCV, cleaned the MAF (and ordered a new one from Opie Oils which has not arrived yet)

However, the MAP seems to have seriously jumped in price for a genuine Bosch 0261230131 article, looking at over £50!!! Has anyone found a good reputable supplier at a decent cost?

Altho the cleaning seems to have helped, I would like a spare on the shelf Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

OMG if you think the MAP is expensive now, try the MAF at almost £100! 2.4TDCI 90 - everyday brilliance

Sensors

Hi,

I found these guys on the web. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/

I put my reg in and then searched for the part numbers on Page 1 of this thread.

Apparently these fit 2007 - PUMA.

Any comments?

Chris

Auto doc have a bit of mixed reputation shall we say when it comes to delivery times and warranty returns. I would only use them as a last resort. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I stuck to more known makes TBH. I have had no real issues with Autodoc providing it is an OEM part. Rgds.

I’ve used Autodoc, no problems but the delivery took rather a while.

The MAP I’d recommend sticking to a Bosch part, the MAF you’d need to find a Ford parts dealer as the source I originally suggested I believe no longer exists. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Hi,

For £70 I will give it a go and give feedback? Or do you advise otherwise.

For the Bosch part I was quoted £245 from LR.

Hi,

For some reason only known to my stupidity I didn't even look on LRCentre or other parts places.

I sort of assumed that these would be special sensors (and difficult to get). I constantly amaze myself how much of a dumbass I can be sometimes.

Both parts are available at LRCentre with whom I have no affiliation (other parts places are available) at a reasonable cost.

Why did LR want to charge so much, do I have "sucker" written on my forehead? - my wife is nodding.
