OEM mic
Hi all

I have an oem Mic mounted on my dash. I do not however have the original radio. The radio fitted was a Sony unit that was some what bodged in. I have now removed bad wireing and fitted a double din unit and a correct adaptor the the defender multi plug. I could not find where or what wire deliver the mic feed.

I have added a cheep amazon one for the time being and folded the original mic out the way.

Can anyone tell me if the original mic has a normal jack connector or is it built in to the wireing if so where?

I don't think there ever was an OEM microphone since I don't think any classic Defender ever left the factory with phone connectivity.

I'm sure someone will be along soon to correct me if I'm wrong.

The standard mic for the Alpine 133BT has a 3.5mm jack plug. Thumbs Up

Seems to have been an option from about 2013(?) or so.

Thanks guys,

I will have to do some digging down behind the dash to see where it's gone. Given some of the bodge the previous owners did it could be anywhere.
