My Vin is also SALLDW****** and to the best of my knowledge 90’s were not recalled in France either, in fact I don’t know if 110’s and 130’s were recalled particularly with Paynee1000’s recent issues. There is a conversation to be had with my dealer, who sold and has serviced my 90 from new, to understand what his knowledge is of the original recall.

If they thought if they ignored the problem it would go away they were decidedly wrong. Like I said earlier anything to do with a Defender recall will be associated by the public with the current incarnation of it. They would not have that possible problem now if they had done the right thing in the first place. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Lady's and gentleman,
Please see the following re-call regarding this ongoing problem. I would like to highlight the following: THIS RECALL COVERS DEFENDER 90 /110/130 AND IS ONLY IN OZ DATED 24/08/2022 So why is this market getting recalled on all versions but nothing has been released for any European vehicles with the same problem. This is truly shocking. A terrible example of (lack of) customer focus and responsibility. I thought I couldn’t dislike what LR has become any more …
I suspect like many, even though my 2014 110 CSW falls outside of the understood impacted period, I took a look at my axles tonight and couldn’t quite make out the ‘double ring’ I was looking for. Around 2010, all axles were mig welded. But by around 2013, the problem was ‘fixed’ so being a 2014 you should not worry too much. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Mate what I can see in the photos you look ok 👍 by 2014 they were on the normal axles. |

Those definitely don't look to be the friction welded type, so hopefully although MIG they are after the MIG problems were sorted (they should be). They look rather as though Stevie Wonder welded them though! Perhaps the process "fix" was to lay down a lot more weld.

^^^That is what I thought. Looks like the weld bead on later axles is thicker than earlier mig welded axles. My welds are almost flush with the tubes. Perhaps JLR was also trying to save on power 😡 and mig wire. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Hi everyone,
This is a quick update for you all. My legal team have started the legal process towards JLR regarding this safety fault. The following is what as happened over the last few weeks. You can draw your own answers from this but its extremely disturbing. 1. I was offer 2 offers of money to shut up and sign a disclosure agreement on this subject i have refused both.(By Landrover) 2. Landrover are refusing to give under a court order the landrover engineer report on the axle. ( I have also been told that they will destroy the report and be fined by the court so it does not get out in the public knowledge ) 3.The faulty axle was also fitted to 90 & 130 Confirmed. 4. The recall was not carried out correctly by the law, DVSA & EU was lied to by Landrover as they stated that all axles had been removed from service.( which is incorrect) 5. I've also been threatened by their executive team take the money and shut up or get nothing!!!!! This is a dangerous company. There is also the possibility that a couple of accidents that caused death could have been caused by this fault. ( this is currently being investigated with the information available. Sorry for the down post but you have a right to know. |
