Nice. Doesn’t get any better than silver and black Landy.

Replaced the passenger side door hinges as the pins had worn causing the door to drop and not seal properly.

Looks better and less road noise now.

Also tried fitting heated mirrors but on drilling the hole between the upper two holes in the door for the wire to pass through, I think I hit a harder section of metal that my drill bits didnt want to drill through (suspect they are a bit blunt)
On looking at the door from the inside, I think I am up against the inner steel door frame and this looks to be a closed cavity - could be awkward to run the cables for the mirror elements - more research needed.

Top tip. Make sure you put the hinges on the right side and i.e passenger door hinges on the passenger door.... 1999 Defender TD5 110

In the process of trying sort out power to my DAB aerial booster I discovered two jacks loose in behind my radio HU. Plugged them in (although the HU wiring diagram states the blue port visible should be used for the subwoofer?) and suddenly I have thundering bass! I mean I bought this thing brand new in 2013 and I hadn’t noticed the subwoofer had never worked until now. Just need to figure out this aerial power feed issue now….

I’ve had a Howling Moon awning for the last 15 -20 years, it’s been on my 110 CSW and both my 130’s. It’s been one of the best bits of kit I’ve ever bought.
So when we bought our 110 Dormobile this time last year I had no hesitation in ordering a new one. However I’ve never been that happy with it, the bag was bigger and as I initially made the brackets to suit the original one, the bag caught the passenger door as it opened and closed. I temporarily fixed this with a bungee chord.
Last week I finally bit the bullet and ordered a Howling Moon AluAwn from Flatdog and have just fitted it today. The awning is exactly the same but the storage much better and have to say I’m very pleased with the result.

BAS 170 remap today for my 2.2 TDCi, using the remote tool.

Great service from Pete and the remote tool was a doddle to use.

Very happy with the results too, as per all previous reports, transforms the truck. Very Happy

Replaced the VCV in my 2.4 TDCI for the first time, using just a ball-ended Allen key with a handle. I've had replacenent on the shelf for a year and couldn't quite bring myself to do what seemed bound to be an awkward job. Managed to drop one of the bolts into the depths of the engine. Then managed to find it from underneath. Fortune favoured me today, which is rare in the field of dropping stuff in the engine bay.

It now seems to idle better, pull away better, speed up and slow down better, behave better in slightly too low or too high a gear. Just runs ever so slightly better in almost every way. I wish I had done it a year ago.

Not quite Skyfall but I’ll eat my hat if you can guess the locations. No points for guessing it’s a wee bit damp 😃

The western isles adventure continues.
With a new swivel housing kit fitted Caterham. Only when stripped it was apparent that the steelers didn’t replace the shims on the top pin when they were replacing the broken CV joint and halfshaft. Hence the major oil leak that it didn’t go in with.
Heading for snow tomorrow, the journey continues,,,,
