A bit before my time. Still a good venue to watch some circuit based rallying...even if it was lashing down and coming in sideways! 1999 Defender TD5 110

So having had the exterior Optimill door handles fitted by Roy5695 a couple of weeks ago to join lots of already fitted Optimill bits I felt it was time to add a few more Optimill bits today. The quality of their items and the customer service is always first class.

Interior door pulls and surrounds
Interior handles
Seat recliner handles
Right hand side vent
Window blocks
Numberplate light.

Then time to service the Ore 4x4 wheel carrier following an email from them reminding owners to ensure it’s kept greased. Another great company to deal with with excellent customer service.

Then replacement of the rear mudflaps brackets after Scott of Uproar 4x4 kindly recoated mine for me again excellent customer service.

And a mention of Labcraft for kindly sending a replacement Scenelight a couple of weeks back.

We are very lucky to have such great companies with great customer service Thumbs Up

Then a quick wash with Optiwash.

So the defender is looking good as the mileage hits 96000 tomorrow.

So big day today, MOT and full 96000 mile service all oils including transmission and axles changed at my main dealer Roger Youngs.

Passed the MOT with no advisories at all Thumbs Up

I’m sure it drove so much better on the way home, even though I have it serviced every 6000 miles.

Brilliant service and an excellent price too so very happy. 2015 HT XS 90

Today think ive finally cured the oil leak from my turbo drain pipe/turbo gasket

Found that you get M6 bolts with 8mm head ( old lr turbo drain pipe)
and M6 bolts with10mm heads ( new bolts)

Also discovered that as I was bleeding the coolant system through the expensive top td5 radiator hose that has a metal bleed screw and threaded insert ...... it leaked past the threaded insert necessitating a new top radiator hose.

Also foiud out quickest way to fit hose on top of thermostat is to remove the viscous fan first

Installed the Wright off road acoustic matt today, total pain to fit but it’s definitely made a big difference. Put a good layer of dynamat underneath as well.
Now all of the noise comes from the second row and doors ! Next job 🙄

I have a Wright off road kit sitting in its box ready to fit to my puma 90SW. Gearing up to fit it, I've been umming and aahing about trying to put dynamat underneath but was worried that the additional thickness would stop the matting sitting neatly into/around the corners. Drew said it wasn't worth it, but I'd rather go belt and braces.

Did the mat fit OK? For ease and speed, I've been looking at the pre-cut Dynamat pieces from Britpart (DA8083 and DA8084) so at least they don't go into the corners.

Whilst up visiting family in Leeds took a trip over to Halifax to pick up a cargo bear rack and some accessories from Brendan at 4x4 overlander.
I've spoken with both Brendan and Barbara a few times over the years and bought various bits from them but to say it was a pleasure to finally meet face to face and have a coffee with Brendan and a chin wag is an understatement. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

Wheel and tyre upgrade. Wasn't planning on doing things in this order, but the 235 Contis were starting to look ropey and needed replacing, so kinda forced my hand. Still, very happy with the end result anyway.

Shiny black wheels make all the other black stuff look a bit drab though, so probably need to address that now. I'll add it to the list.
