Eh! 2.5k for a swivel housing Shocked Shocked
Better cancel the Easter hols then. Is that honestly the cost of new housing and bits. Jeeeeesh I’m in disbelief.

Big Cry Big Cry

Don't panic, the figure was guesswork based on what experience I've had in the past of dealer pricing. It could be much less (or more, I suppose).

Sorry if I caused palpitations. Very Happy

I've just checked and a new genuine ball is £250, so add a seal and gasket or two, and if needed pins and bearings, and you'll be around £500 per side in parts at a main dealer. Then add around four hours labour at £100+vat per hour and you'll not get much change from £1500 if doing both sides, I fear.

I'm only a newish newby so go easy. I may be completely wrong.
I would think there is a possibility the drive shaft oil seals may have been damaged during the recent work allowing diff oil into the housing or pressure to build up if the breather is blocked?
Just a suggestion, and to keep in mind replacing the swivels may not fix the problem if the oil seals have been damaged with diff oil leaking to the swivel.
A good sniff required?
Sorry, new to landrovers, rebuilding a 110 from the crankshaft up, but this seems too much of a coincidence.

Good point about the oil seal. Definitely worth looking into.

The axle/driveshaft oil seal sits in the rear of the swivel ball so it would be replaced as part of that replacement process (one would hope!) Thumbs Up

PS make sure you install it the correct way round.

For the avoidance of doubt…

My reference to fitting the correct way round was in relation to the oil seal not the swivel Rolling with laughter

As Keith says - yes available from Gwyn Lewis in a number of options. Go for the poly boot if you are going to purchase.

Other manufacturers and suppliers available of course but you can’t go wrong with GL Thumbs Up
