I think the Td5 ventilation system is not much different than the earlier models.
On earlier models, there are 2 options: 1. 50/50 windscreen / leg 2. 100% windscreen Just inside the lower dash, where the leg vents are, there is a flap to shut off the 50% air that goes to the leg area. Probably that is stuck open. You should be able to remove one of the leg vents and check. The flaps are connected to each other by a metal shaft, so they work together. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Check the cables that control the flaps, I adjusted mine to ensure they were tight when set to dash only. Also check the seals around the tubes up to the dash vents. I put some duct tape around mine as they were pretty loose.

Grafty99 came up with a solution in regards to the vents at knee level.
They are made to swivel so you can angle them where ever is best for you and the most effective. I have them in my TD5 and they are great. I think that the design was passed onto IRB to retail. I am sure someone can get you a link. |

I think your cable/steel wire has snapped like mine.
I didn't bother fixing it yet as mine passed MOT without a problem. Roel 1984 90 2.5 na Diesel - RR V8 (1994-2001) 1997 Camel Trophy Discovery 300TDI (2001-2009) 2005 G4 Discovery III 4.4 V8 (2008-2018) It's gone but it still hurts. 2003 90 Td5 (2009-now) |

My Td5 is very much a case of:
Windscreen - 80% windscreen : 20% feet; Mid - 30-40% windscreen : 60-70% feet; Feet - 10% windscreen : 90% feet. I have Grafty’s swivel vents, which are an epic improvement. In general, it’s a fairly agricultural arrangement from the factory. Give the cables a bit of a spray down on the heater box in the engine bay, i had a little bit of bother with my 300, been a little stiff. Sprayed those down with WD40 and worked the controls, and it worked wonders. I did the same trick with the TD5 Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |
