Take everything you can from GS430. I think it was just a different accessory level to the LS430 but engine is the same. Stop faffing around and start leading the way!
I'm looking now at modifying the engine mount brackets on the engine to suit the original mountings on the chassis which are at different heights because Land Rover like to make things difficult Keep smiling |

Initially I thought existing mounts lined up but on my chassis they don't I'm quite keen to chop 'em off and weld new ones on to suit donor engine but chap helping me thinks we should modify the mount castings on engine to suit mounts on chassis. I'm not sure of his logic but he is a really good engineer so I'm going to question him further hopefully this weekend. The car I bought as a fill in while land rover was off the road is a mitsubishi which needs a new clutch and timing belt. I stripped the front end down to fit timing belt and crank pulley is bost and then I bost the crank sensor so now I'm carless and thoroughly off having had an injection in my back Monday which hasn't really worked . I ordered a transmission jack which arrived today so I can offer up transfer box this weekend and see about linkage modifications. Keep smiling buddy and post lots of pics

Some bad luck there Tim, bloody hell. You've practically almost doubled your work
at least you’re busy I suppose I'll be sharing little snippets of the rebuild of the engine for a couple weeks and then after that we should be coming close to the more interesting bits, like the ECU and Loom.... 4.0 V8 Defender 90 My Instagram |

The ECU and loom bits are the bit's where I hold my hands up in surrender I really want to know what I'm doing in this department so would be grateful if anybody chips in at this point Sent a message to Dan at DT and he responded very quickly so give him a look LJ if you want another contact to consult

If I need to mate I shall, I know hes abusy bloke. But Im still going to be rolling with Pheonix for the loom and stand alone.
If you have the time, there is a mechanic or "tuner" on YouTube who’s very knowledgeable on the Uz's called CarTuneNZ. He has a heap of information on all aspects of these engines and has made a video about running the engine on the standard ECU with a manual box. I never watched it all but he basically proves its possible running a 1/3uz without the need for a standalone. 4.0 V8 Defender 90 My Instagram |

Sorry about lack of posts christmas, covid and family stuff meant progress was slow. Here I'm trimming the bulkhead as it's in the way, may not be enough but hopefully this weekend will answer that question.

Hey Greeni! Which adaptor plate did you plump for? I'm guessing PMC? Also which gearbox are you using? Any advice for this conversion will be gratefully received |

It’s a Syncro’s conversion for the r380, it’s one of two that are currently being done at DT Engine Solutions.
There’s also a 1uz with a supercharger on it! |
