BREMBO 6-Pot Brake Upgrade
Anyone upgraded to BREMBO front brakes, calipers, discs?

As fitted to V8/P400.

Does anyone know if these are the same part numbers as RR Sport. Look the same.

Don't quote me on this as I don't have any real evidance only what people have said to me, but I was under the impression that the Land Rover branded brakes are still made by Brembo it's just Brembo changed their strategy and Manufactures started branding the caplipers instead.

Part numbers
I have the following part numbers.

RANGE ROVER L405 SPORT L494

OEM LAND ROVER RED BREMBO

PART NO: 20A6470500 / 20A6470600 / LR139244

OTHER REF. NO. LR049115 / LR093886 / LR049117 / LR093886

Was hoping someone would be able to confirm that they are the same part as fitted to L663 Defender.

I have a friend who is checking. If I get confirmation, I'll update this listing.

Whenever I eventually get my new Defender L663 Hard Top, I want to upgrade to BREMBO front brakes. As fitted to P400/V8.

I suspect, someone has already done it.

@thepetrolhead

I would certainly be interested in the MY22 P400e red version. They do look really good behind black/grey wheels.

Certainly an upgrade SWMBO has said she would like. 1992 - Defender 90
1997 - Discovery
2015 - Disco Sport (only 1 child)
2018 - Merc V-Class (3 Children and the mutt)
2020 - Ordered 110 X-Dynamic HSE MY21.5 (hoping big enough for the family)
2021 - MY21.5 Cancelled by JLR, MY22 ordered, awaiting dates :/

Yes. My 21MY also "un-slotted" by JLR.

Now MY22 with some additional options.

Still awaiting new build date.

Update on part numbers.
I have been told these are the same
Part Number as L494 Range Rover Sport.

Please check before ordering.

When I do mine, I'll update the post.

Can the standard Defender caliper bracket be used or is there one specifically for these calipers?
You can buy refurbished one's off Fleabay but it's the brackets that may need investigating unless you know otherwise.

Sorry to hijack this thread….

I am thinking to go for D250. However, since it comes with 2-piston caliper with 349mm disc. I don’t know if it is sufficient to stop the 2.4tonnes defender. So, for existing D200/D250 owners, can you advise if the stock brake is good or I shall opt for D300 which has 4-piston caliper instead?

Thanks

The brakes are pretty fierce, they are more than up to the job. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

More than sufficient on my D240 - they can take a bit of getting used to as they are very sensitive but I’ve no complaints about their stopping abilities - miles better than the brakes I had on both the L322 Range Rovers I’ve owned. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Thanks a lot for the prompt response.

Just a bit curious the difference between D250 S and D300 SE. The difference in $ is £6000. I only see the D250 is 50bhp down, smaller brake and a bit of interior difference. Why is the difference so huge in price?

Still deciding between the two and don't know if I shall spend £6000 more for D300 SE.

Land Rovers greed.

I went with D200 because I couldn’t justify spending an extra 3 or 4k for 50hp. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
