Finally done it with a couple of modifications so I didn’t need the L brackets - I used some longer Torqx bolts, some polythene spacers (both from Amazon) and an old bungee sail tie as I cannot use the feeble clips that are supposed to keep the table in the stowed position. I have two other mods I want to make - see if I can mount my fire extinguisher bracket on the stowed table and also find a way to mount my first aid kit there too (both live under the boot floor at the moment, so out of sight if there is an emergency, nobody will find them)
Please bear in mind I have basic tools, two left hands and zero technical ability and this is the first time I have unbolted/ modified anything “major”(to me} on any car I’ve owned............. I had one finding when unbolting the factory Torqx bolts - they seem to have been fixed in with something like Loctite and needed a little effort to undo so I may need to apply more adhesive if things start to vibrate loose...........

There are a couple of options to fit the table - Tim's above swaps the ends over and uses some spacers in the hinge mount (but needs an elasticated strap to hold the table shut) whereas mine uses L brackets to keep the ends the right distance apart so that the latches still work (as per OP's solution) but the original stoppers are a bit short
But mine is now non-rattly after adding a pair of dining room chair feet onto the 'too short' rubber stoppers Original stoppers too short... There is approximately half a dozen different suppliers for this kind of fold down table at Amazon, took my less than 10 seconds to find some available ones...

After going through your installation options. I decided to do a little modification that allows quicker folding and unfolding of the table and 0 rattles in the closed position. Also, get rid of the flimsy latches.

Those catches look great, do they screw into the existing screw holes in the door or have you drilled and screwed them in? Cheers Ian

Very clever - looks like you just swapped the stock mounting brackets left for right as well. very clean installation - I'm copying this one since the sincerest form of flattery is imitation. |

Interesting how some mount the table with the flat edge as the work surface when down & others mount it the other way up so the table has an slight upstand 😊 2020 P300 HSE
