Not much has been happening Col, garage has been incredibly busy with Dinitrol work and usual defender business, so much so they've had to install another lift and do some internal building works.
I've not even had the chance myself to go down and get in everyone's way due to work. I am though in the the process of buying a really nice clean 130 tub and hood from a nearby forum member which has been a great relief considering there aren't many in decent shape. I can also say that I'm 90% sure I'll be able to squeeze the colour change in too which is nice I'm also likely to buy some more parts this week coming like air shocks and pneumatically controlled hi/low diff lock kit from a chap on the FB group. Will probably need to buy some more 3/8" tubing now I think about it - I severely doubt the 30 ft that came with the controller will be enough for all 4 corners on a 130 Stuart Cummins 130 Build Thread 58 130 Double Cab HCPU - Cairns Blue 04 110 Double Cab - Black (gone) 07 Audi RS4 Avant - Silver |

Well it's been a while and had a ~2 month setback after the head mechanic suddenly left for personal reasons and the new chap having to give 6 weeks notice. That and the fact Stagshaw have an exploding customer base - wont be long before they get a new big shop that's for sure!
Anyway, the 130 is entirely dismantled still with the chassis currently away being shot blasted and galvanised. Here's some terrible photos taken in a pinch after getting back from my holiday: Click image to enlarge(90 vs 130) Click image to enlarge(the worst of the rust on the entire vehicle - if only I told you how little I paid for it ) Click image to enlarge(got a new tank guard on the way) Click image to enlarge(what was I greeted to in the build bay) I was also given this stunning Freelander as a courtesy car for my week away in Bara since it wasn't built in time. It was one of the very last off production line and in the highest spec, Metropolis - sooo comfy, electric everything, double sunroofs... Click image to enlarge Will have more photos for you rivet counters later this week - promise Stuart Cummins 130 Build Thread 58 130 Double Cab HCPU - Cairns Blue 04 110 Double Cab - Black (gone) 07 Audi RS4 Avant - Silver |

They too were impressed with its lack of rust or need for any repairs.
It's baking right now I believe and will return all nicely painted |

That is always a big plus with none or very little work to do on the chassis, the chassis will look very nice when back from being painted 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Nice. I know it’s as long as a piece of string, but any idea how long you’ll have to wait until you get it back on the road?

That looks lovely!
I assume the blacking is just for visual looks more than protection of the galv? Out of interest do they use a cavity wax internally? Or is this more likely to do damage trapping moisture inside?
