I’ve got these in satin on mine. Never seen them without the little grilles between the indicator and sidelight though.

Actually they look really good - you mind my asking where you got them? I was thinking if I can’t get an exact match for the mesh I do chose it would maybe be better just blank but I’m open to other good solutions like yours!

I've no idea why these things are so expensive but there's a similar option at a similar price here:

I much prefer the look of the above Nakatanenga Heritage Headlight Surrounds with Gills, but they're sill money for what they are. Also note they have a textured finish, so NOT smooth like the Series light surrounds. Puts me off a little too. James

I've seen both of these now you've both included the links but think I must have skipped past because of the price! The region of £200?
Thanks chaps will keep them both in mind as the search continues for a more *cough* affordable solution! |

I went for the Nakatanenga heritage ones from 4x4 Overlander as I liked the OEM style horn louvres.
Don't remember them being that price though! They are supplied textured but paint up fine with high build primer. A picture with a zunsport grille too as you mention wanting one of them too Click image to enlarge > 110 XS Double Cab |

Just to give you an idea on the look Nananatenga in black on mine; like Hank, I'm sure they were a lot cheaper when I bought them, I suspect Brexit tariff?

I looked at them last year and they've been around that price for along time. Darren

I have had the Nakatanenga surrounds & finishers on mine since 2014 but they came in a smooth finish which has stood the test of time.
The Nakatanenga grille however is a different matter, that has been on since 2010 and came in a textured finish which started falling off almost straight away. I repainted it once and it was a right royal pain to do. Where the paint had fallen off it cleaned up to bare alloy a treat but where the paint was still present it just would not shift so eventually I settled for a combination of etch & high-build primer which seemed to do the trick. I am also keen on these but wanted to know if they are a straight swap with original surrounds or do additional holes need to be drilled? |

I really wonder if anyone has simply taken a standard finisher, such as BTR7850PUC which are dirty cheap and modified it to look like a series 3 headlamp surround. I have a few spare of those, and would not mind trying out one myself either on a wood table saw, with a fine tooth blade, or a router. Unfortunately I do not have the dimensions for the Series 3 surround. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

I've had mine on for 6 months or so and its been fine, I think they have improved the paint finish by the sounds of it. I'm going to add the trims Defender Upgrades sell as the price is a lot more palatable. |
