You've done a great job with that 130 James - I'm really impressed with the thought and hard work you've put into it. I've always had a soft spot for 130s since working on them in the 90s. Pretty much the perfect Defender IMHO

130 working well last few days, slight water leak through bulkhead needs to be sorted. Getting around 25mpg with mixed use including towing around 1.5t avg.

Your 130 makes the trailer look very small Clayton.

There's a queue at the moment. On the last shoot day where I provided transport, guns immediately booked inntheir seat for next time. 1.3 box will help when towing . Its going to have to wait a little while bit busy.com at moment with it. Cheers

Well this fell out today, just helping the spigot bearing put of the crank currently, then ready for refit.

reconditioned gearbox and 1.3 ratio T box is in. despite the spigot bearing taking 2hrs to remove it was relatively straight forward. Clutch changed at the same time. Great to see whoever did the clutch last time didnt both refitting all the bell housing bolts (under the EGR cooler!)
only driven it 30miles or so, i need to sort the gearchange selection, hence my other post about the spacers here: https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic29132.html and this tech bulletin https://www.defender2.net/gallery/albums/u...uality.pdf ratio wise, really happy with it, 130 is part loaded, probably 200kg in the back plus the conversion weight, and with the 1.3 it drives like my 110 on a 1.2 box. very pleased with the result. Hi James
Any more details / pics of the rear tank guard / tow bar setup? I have what I believe is the same tank guard/detachable tow pack and recovery eye from my 110 (Southdown from memory?) that I was wanting to fit but wasn't sure of the best way to extend the mounting point for the tow ball to get it back to the original(ish) position. Thanks Ben |

Hi Ben, yes its a Southtown one. Are you talking about extending it for a 130 specific use? Do you have the original tow plate attachment? Cheers
