After taking the keys out the other day and seeing the ignition was still on i thought it high time to change the ignition barrel. About an hours work that took ages in the end with a stream of visitors and phone calls! Got there in the end though. Lucas part fitted, about £70 for ignition barrel and switch. Transferred the x engn lock across to the new barrel.

Ignition now sorted, time to move on to improving induction system.
Out with the old lr trunking, here it is next to the 90mm ducting used to conect a nugget air wing box. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I managed to remove the duct in one piece, most said it needed to be cut up. Did all the work from the top too so didn't remove the inner wheel guard as also suggested. New trunking fitted to nugget box Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I also removed the water separator from the air box. The last one I did took ages and came out in pieces, this one pretty much fell out with the tab pushed in. Just contemplating modifying the intake part of the box further and cutting out some of the moulding after the water separator. What do people think? I've completely removed all traces of the water separator from my Airbox, its just an empty box now with feed in, filter and outlet straight to the MAF sensor. No problems in 80k miles 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Finally getting around to installing the last few planned items. Webasto thermo top (sorry edited Air top) latest addition. Bought the wrong one 2nd hand on ebay as its a 3900w one over std 2000w but it had just been serviced and price was workable.
Hardware went i yesterday, wiring and control panel finished today. I need to finalise the exhaust system to exit where I want it but so far its going well. Aim is to put control panel on dash somewhere. Unit is mounted under rear seat base frame. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Picture of it running showing smoke was initial startup after purging unit. Click image to enlarge Its been sat since april so I was wondering how it would go! Subsequent running has shown it burning cleaner, no visible smoke. May have to remote the exhaust back further when static running it. Will see how good door seals are for fumes! Is it a thermo top or just the air heater? The thermo top normally sits in the engine bay and heats the engine coolant up. Ive been looking at an air heater this morning and was also thinking under the rear seats. Do you have a storage unit in there like my 130 does?

Sorry my mistake, Air Top - so air heater, have been looking at thermo tops last fews days for coolant so had it on my mind! edited the post now.
i have moved my rear seats back and made my own frame for them so plenty of space. having said that my 110 has a 2000x air top under the rear seats and that just fitted (puma) Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

Large marine style webasto mc04 control unit is in. It wouldn't fit horizontally!
Click image to enlarge Now just need to make up a kick board, sort the air heater outlet and add the audi suspension air tank for on-board air res. Slowly getting there. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

Have you put a separate tank in for the diesel for the air heater or managed to tap into the main fuel supply?

Main tank. I added a pick up through top of sender unit when tub was off. I have always dropped a tank to add webastos, its a mornings work to dtop tank, fit pickup and refit tank and well worth the effort in my opinion. Cheers

top Saturday morning off roading with the 130. On board air tank now fitted to, gives the compressor more productive running time and rests.

Audi Air suspension tank fitted 3l I believe. Connected to tmax compressor via a £5 ebay air manifold. Does a superb job holding air for the lockers and on board inflation plus pcl fitting. Cheers
