It’s only been worked on by two previous people, the MOD and an old school Land Rover main dealer mechanic (previous owner) You’d have thought both knew what they was doing but that doesn’t make it ok of course, I’ll look into it a bit but not sure it would cause any issues any way. Many thanks Co1 and familymad appreciated Thumbs Up

Dinnu, your build is also very nice with great attention to detail as well, finding time to work on them can sure be a struggle sometimes! 1997 Ex-MOD 110, Pop Top Camper, build thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72352.html

Nice doors, are the doors for side lockers or are they going in the top half of the tub for easier access ? 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Thanks, they are going either side of the tub in front of the rear wheel, just need to make the rear boxes for them once in situ.

Thanks for the answer Very Happy

I have one locker each side on Millie, it's a nice lot of extra space Thumbs Up

If it helps you, i have 2 complete side lockers that are not doing anything and would save you making the boxes ? i got these as i was going to make a smaller box to go behind the rear wheel on the N/S but they are to good to cut up Rolling Eyes 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Thanks Clayton for the kind offer.
I think the chances of them fitting my doors without butchering them would be slim and the postage maybe cost prohibitive...?
Having said that, which ones are they, might give me an idea if they’d fit or not Thumbs Up 1997 Ex-MOD 110, Pop Top Camper, build thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72352.html

These are from a utility 110 not sure what firm though and as you can see in the first pic, the boxes come a bit lower than the sills Thumbs Up

Many thanks for measuring up Clayton really appreciate it Thumbs Up
Unfortunately looking at those measurements nothing really matches, I’d have to take them apart, cut them up and start again!
Probably easier to just start from scratch I think, thanks again though Thumbs Up 1997 Ex-MOD 110, Pop Top Camper, build thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72352.html

Wow, the ability to work on the tub like that presents all sorts of possibilities for future proofing it. Constructing the cubby boxes will be easier but also strengthening the wing supports. Gwyn Lewis mud flap brackets would be great addition at that point. Darren

Thanks, makes things easier for sure!
I’ve got some Ali angle to reinforce the wings for the mudflap brackets and I’ll be fitting the Gwyn Lewis cross member mud shields but wasn’t planning on fitting his brackets. I’d prefer to keep them in the stock position, don’t his mount on the wing support bar, taking them much closer to the wheel? 1997 Ex-MOD 110, Pop Top Camper, build thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72352.html

They certainly move them a bit closer but my experience is that they work all the better for it, to be honest.

Hmm....
I’ll put them on my ‘options’ list!
You could very easily get carried away with options/extras but I’ve a limited budget to work with and building a camper ain’t cheap so I have to prioritise the necessities over the ‘nice to have but not necessary right now’ gear!!
