I think that’s the most reply’s I’ve ever had on here. Cheers chaps I was sort of ruling out A bar with no spots in my head and the general consensus seems to agree with that. There seems to be a sway towards without which is what I thought as I put the front back together but when I tried the A bar with spots I kinda liked it I did think about getting some darker led spots to fit in better with the head lights.
This is a harder decision than I expected Ray Ray My build thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic17615.html |

Without gets my vote. Looks like your collection of A bars needs to go on ebay

I’m afraid I have to buck the trend. Cannot stand the over-sized spots, so they shouldn’t be there at all. Everything else you have on the front is ‘subtle’, whilst they’re not (colour and size) at all. Jarring. After that, both versions look good, but preference would be for ‘with’ A-bar. If you want spots, Lazers would be the biz. Monsieur Le Grenadier

I didn’t think the spots were oversized, they are just standard Landrover ones? I’m waiting for an air con pipe to arrive at the moment as when I went to get it gassed up one had a hole The grille has to come off to fit it so once that’s in and working I’ll start thinking about the front again Ray My build thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic17615.html |

I finally have working air con (just as the weather turns really cold ) tried to get it all gassed up a couple of weeks ago but found a hole in one of the pipes I’d bought. New pipe arrived on Monday but the kid was back in hospital, so got it fitted last night and gassed up today. Only 8 months to wait until it’s needed again now Ray

Not on the Truck, but I use mine a lot on frosty mornings as I fnd it clears the front screen far quicker than just the normal blower......

That time again I can say imo hydrate 80 is not a good rust preventing product!!! In the two areas I used it rust has been coming back through, so as I was tidying up the chassis I bit the bullit and stripped the back again.
Click image to enlarge I found a small hole underneath so welded it up. No bigger than a five pence piece so not too bad. Click image to enlarge Por15 on which I’m hoping will protect it for many years to come. I couldn’t be bothered with filler to make it perfectly smooth this time so it is as 16 years has made it Click image to enlarge Some high build primer and flatting Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge And top coats of Santorini black and lacquer should keep it tidier for a while. All the back of the crossmember was also stripped and por 15’ed just like the rest of the chassis. I still have a few sections and touch up bits to do which I hope will be done before bad weather hits. Ray My build thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic17615.html |

Decided I’m going to start swapping out bolt on chassis bits for galvanised ones.
Click image to enlarge I’m just sorting a list of anti roll bar brackets brake shields etc and Need to find a galvanised tank cradle with the Inbuilt rear crossmember bolts next. Ray My build thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic17615.html |
