I would not be surprised if the mirrors and arms could be removed and replaced with proper Defender ones. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

That's fantastic! To be fair I had not spent too much time investigating the grenadier before the reveal photos. 2011 110 USW

Hopefully if it’s a 21st century car it will have powered and heated mirrors with reverse dipping, so you’d have to use L663 New Defender ones............ Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Given all of the other built in attachment points, I wonder if these are intended for a raised air intake?

^^^ If they are, that’s the level of attention to detail that makes this vehicle so appealing. Monsieur Le Grenadier

Was that said tongue in cheek Tim? I suspect Grenadier will drop many of the electronic complexities that make vehicles so expensive to maintain and repair. I dread to think what the cost of an L663 mirror assembly is when white van man smashes it off as he speeds past on a narrow country lane without any consideration. |

It does appear to fit in with the standard airbox arrangements on the BMW B58 engine: Click image to enlarge |

Is it just me or does that bonnet appear to be exuding a smug smile? |

Spot on ^. The door mirror on my late RRC was smashed by said white van man. Electrically adjusted and heated, it was a nightmare to replace. Hopefully the Grenadier is aimed at those of us with arms, and who are quite happy to adjust the mirror manually, as long as it is cheap and simple to replace. |

Hopefully they would be more like say a Fiesta. They are held on with one screw (maybe two can't remember) and come pre-painted. Very straightforward to swap over. |

Jim Radcliffe said from the start it would be a utilitarian vehicle and I guess will be specced as such.
He knew what Defender people want, like, and have done to their vehicles over the years and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this site and others have been perused by Ineos personnel to get a feel of what is happening. Land Rover on the other hand have morphed into a very tech, tech and more tech company reliant on on board computers etc. (Great for some of their models but not for Defender. I wonder if they’re so smug as to think that most will renew in three years like a big part of the auto market plays out these days?) How all of that tech gubbins would fare in extreme use is anybodies guess although they will have tested, but they cannot test into the future ie when things get a little older, shaken about and worn. Sounds expensive, will be expensive! I genuinely think Land Rover will be worried.......they should be. Ineos have left the blocks and started running, let’s hope they keep the momentum up |

There’s an article in the new LRO that came today. In it Ineos are quoted as saying the Grenadier will have all the tech, connectivity and safety that modern buyers expect. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
