Finally got round to fitting the Alive Comfort Springs to the front. I did the rears a few months ago now and have been building up the courage to do the fronts. I really could do with a taller jack and axle stands but I managed. It was pretty hard work though.

It’s made me want some new dampers and turrets next.

Also took some more pics of the wheels. Really loving them.

Thanks, yeah I'm loving the more utilitarian look with the steels on.

Yeah the window blocks and bonnet hinges are both a brushed aluminium and they just don't fit in with the rest of the Defender. I will change them both at some point. Both the blocks and the hinges are actually fine though at the minute so it's a bit further down the list of jobs at the minute. If Huttopia choses to do another batch I will probably get some from him though. It definitely bugs me.

Are you happy with the Alive comfort springs, these are on my near 'to do list'. Thoughts appreciated.

If, like me, all you regularly use it for is carrying a dog and not much more I think they are great. They just take the edge off the harshness a little. Mine had a very worn rear spring so it's nice to see it sat nice and level now too. I'd definitely recommend them.

Thank you, very much a second car and very little off roading to be honest. Purchase was a bucket list item for me, and six months in no regrets. Just having fun driving it and slowly upgrading it.

I am looking at the Alive stage 2 remap and having the springs done at the same time.

BTW, looking at the start of the thread, it looks like we bought our cars from same place Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Ah nice. I found the dealership to be really good. Fascinating looking at all the other stunning cars in storage there too.

Just watched your video, good to put a face to the defender owner Thumbs Up

Another bit of security you need is a tyre cover or a spare wheel lock Wink 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Ha ha I wondered if anybody would make the connection. Thanks for watching.

Yeah I’m hoping I can get another locking wheel nut for the spare maybe. But you’re right I do need something I’m still undecided about a spare wheel cover. Not sure if I like them or not.

That's come along nicely since you have owned it Thumbs Up these are just a giant meccano set really, and great to work on, once you sus out the landrover defender style. My dad has learned a lot from me, regarding work. He just buys new bolts etc if needed. He used to dive into things he is learning, plus with what we learned from the metro days, we can tackle anything. Thumbs Up

With you fitting central locking, do you really need the drive side lock Whistle Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
