Had the rear prop shaft out to grease, clean up and rust proof.
Click image to enlarge Used a few coats of Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 to properly get the UJ's sealed. Very similar to a product we have at work called Aquasteel. Re-fitted with new anti-siezed bolts all round. Will be getting a coat of Dynax UC once I have done the front prop. Also fitted a Nakatanenga RAI and intake mod kit last week. So much better than the original air intake! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Today I adapted the roof rack to carry these whilst causing less scratches, trimmed off a few unnecessary uprights and fitted some old hose over the ridges, who knew rear recovery eyes double up as lashing down points

I tidied up the wiring to my reversing camera as ages ago I added another camera but didn't remove the old one.
Then fitted an extra reversing light, so far it seems very good Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Yesterday was another fun day, steering box replacement on a key workers defender, due to excessive oil leaking and needing the wagon on the road ASAP a new box was sourced and fitted, everything was great apart from one pipe that didn’t want to free off from the union still job done and the wagons back in the hands of the user oh and now I’ve got a steering box overhaul in the to do pile 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

Fitted a new wheel carrier
The Mantec carrier lasted just over 10 years - but the back plate had rusted and was starting to rust the back door skin Had to grind one original tub bolts off, Cut the base of the new carrier off to fit my non standard cross member Drill new holes as the cross member was built without the usual holes (tidier and less places for mud to stick and rust) Used the supplied anti- seize paste on the stainless bolts - fantastic stuff - not seen it before - but it gets everywhere Click image to enlarge |
