A job that has been put off for a long time was refurbishing the 3 steps. Today I finally worked up the motivation and got them off, removed the plastic and rubber covers, de-rusted them and applied a coat of POR 15.

Both my Def and my Disco have been on CTEKs since the start of the solitary confinement. It's amazing how well they start for the weekly foraging run when they are on constant charge!

I noted how good the 110 started last time the battery went flat. I suppose i am probably looking at a new battery at some point. But for now its on charge over night. [/list] 1999 Defender TD5 110

While looking for some wiring under the drivers seat, found the base of the seat box with a nice layer of oil. Red ECU plug having an oil party!
Cleaned out as much oil as I could with electrical contact cleaner. New under rocker cover loom required - email to Duckworths The last time I changed the loom was about 6 years ago. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

I mounted the battery cut off switch next to the winch switch. For the job I used 50mm2 cable and 300A(1000A max) switch.
And most important... I found out how to fully open my Sheelman seats! Click image to enlarge Defender 110 SW MY2011 2.4tdci decat, no EGR Jeep Wrangler YJ 1990 4.0. Front 78' Dana 60, Rear CUCV 14 bolt |
