Chudering when I lift off?
Hello

I'm guessing my diffs need some maintennace, but while driving along at almost any speed but more so over say 40mph if you lift off completelty the acceslerator the truck does have quiote a wine now (and no the mother in law is not in the car)

Also driving along at say 40mph the truck almost feels like it not getting enough fuel, hard to exsplain but like a stutter. Cannot describe it but not getting enough fuel is how I would say almost juering a little.

other than this is driving very well, keeps getting 30mpg or more and is almost on 100K miles now. Thumbs Up

The above noioses, any idea what it is thats wearing out....?

Cheers

Check your oils in the diffs and transfer box.
Clunk as you lift off and on the throttle could be backlash in the diff but also worth checking the prop shaft ujs Hold my beer and watch this!

springs gone in the clutch? possibly the small springs in the centre bit and not necessarily the main springs?

chuddering is usually handbrake binding

if its a whine, everything in the driveline is worth checking

UJs
drive members
shafts
diff

if its a whine noise and transmission related most likley to be a diff in my experience when in coast.

The resistance to driving is the speed the same as it was for any given gear/rpm? Cheers

I think my handbrake might be binding. When I start moving and pressing petrol there is a shudder I feel and hear in the drive train. The traction controll light also comes on then.

Or.... Is it perhaps an issue with the traction controll sensors?

Handbrake is easy to check; just wind the adjuster in until it bites then back it if 1.5 turns. This is how it should be set, with any slack taken up by the handbrake cable adjuster instead. When I had the issue I wound mine in quarter turn and it bit, so I knew it wasn’t right! Chuddering gone after this!

Is this adjuster located on the housing of the handbrake?

Yes. Square adjuster on the fixed side of the drum.

I pulled the 2 fuses for tc and abs and the problem is gone. Next step is to clean those speed sensors on the wheels i guess.
