Yet another issue.......
This time the engine cuts out when I'm driving......not great when I'm on a roundabout as happened at the weekend Shocked Wife wasn't very amused.....said something rude about the reliability of my pride and joy!

I have had the EGR 'blocked' at the same time I got the BAS remap done at the start of the year and she has just had a service so I'm assuming that something major would have been picked up when running diagnostics?

The symptoms:

Driving along.....revs drop.....I can rev the engine but just coasting with no 'drive'....and then just dies.

Any thoughts??

Thanks

Mark

As Blackwolf has already said, vcv valve seems the likely suspect.

You can get Denso branded for about £60 and unbranded for about £30
You can change yourself - only issue is awkward to access the bolts - there is full thread on here with pics on how to do it and the tool - ratchet wrench with extensions/universal joint

Hi Mark, was wondering if you've managed to fix the issue described here? I am struggling with the exact same issue.

So I've had the VCV replaced (Denzo) but the problem persists. Big Cry

It suddenly loses power (when accelerating hard), does not respond to the accelerator, coasts along and then dies.

Any help much appreciated Bow down

Hmmm, could be a dirty fuel pickup in the tank?

Time to drop the tank and inspect it - there could be crud around the fuel pickup, and when you put foot, the increased fuel flow is compromised by the blockage. --
