You can get a repair kit for that connector.
And yes, that is the correct sensors for the 2.4βs. WeWillWinπ¬π§πΊπΈ β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

Hi Steve, yes I got the new bare plug as the catch on the existing one (red) had broken. I replaced the red sliding catch only to realise that the catch (raised tab) on the MAF body where the red catch attaches to was not raised anymore and had either worn down or sheared off. So now my plug fits on but it canβt latch down. As the vehicle is now 10 years old it may be just as well to replace the MAF sensor anyway.
I hope my description is understandable? |

Yes, I know what you mean.
As you've figured no doubt, that locking tab I should be there for a reason and is important to stop the plug coming off. So if the MAF side is worn and not allowing it to latch, it could indeed do with replacing. Mine was of similar age too, chances are it will be beneficial anyway. Since I've done both of mine, it's been running great. Better than quite a long time. That is despite still keeping them clean. WeWillWinπ¬π§πΊπΈ β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

The new MAF has been ordered Steve, thank you for the link in your original post
![]() NB I did manage to get the red tab out of the new plug and have put it in the original. That saves either pulling the wires out and fitting to the new plug or cutting wires and attaching a wired plug....much easier. |

![]() Feel free to report back after, I'd recommend doing the MAP too whilst at it. I found this to be the biggest improvement, but is a little bit more involved but nothing much. WeWillWinπ¬π§πΊπΈ β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

Catherinestreetmotors, the suggested MAF sensor supplier, does not want to ship outside of UK. Looked for another possible supplier for the MAF sensor, and found the below one (=Transitparts). Ordered, and correctly they also priced it net of VAT for shipment to Switzerland. Just hope it is the genuine Ford part. Will see. At least the customer comments are all positive.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/SENSOR-TRANSIT-MO...=8-1-fkmr0 The suggested MAP sensor supplier had no problem with shipment to me, and at very reasonable cost I must say. Glad you found an alternative Eric.
Hopefully that will work for you. The Ford Genuine parts would be readily available I should think but not in particular online. Probably to sell via dealers for fitting at double price. Youβd be surprised how few people know what these sensors are, what they do and how easy to change they are. ![]() β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

Eric, re genuine or not......in the questions and answers, following the link you posted someone has asked and they said no, not genuine Ford.
Iβm sure it will work fine though as the reviews look good. |

Yes, I asked. Buyer feedback indeed is good, so we will see....

![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Hello, Thanks for so interesting post. This is a photo of my MAP sensor on a Defender 2.4 2010. You can see the Bosh reference is 0 261 230 255. Will be change by 0261230131? |

0261230131
Is correct for a 2.4. Mine was 0261230132 as factory fit. Bosch seem to have changed the P/Nβs at times but 0261230131 Is the current up to date spec for the 2.4 Motor in a Defender or Transit. Mine has been fitted some time now, and running as good as ever. Zero issues. WeWillWinπ¬π§πΊπΈ β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

Hmmm.......mine has the same number as Chuchi-el drac as well ie 0 261 230 225, (2010 2.4) I wonder why others have different noβs ?
You can still get a genuine Bosch map sensor with that number too. Around Β£25. |

Steve,
Just wanted to say thanks for the information and advice. Changed both on my 94,000 mile 07 Defender 90. Tick over is definitely smoother as is acceleration. Cheers Mate. |
