Dropped the 110 off at the garage Friday morning before a weekend in London and picked it today. 110 in for injector seal replacement, timing check and check injectors in the correct cylinders.
One injector seal showed sign's of leakage, one of the rubber O rings snapped on removal from the injector and the timing was a fraction out. All now sorted. 110 appears to idle smoother and less tappety, also picks up a bit quicker as well. The test will be a long run at weekend for the rally at Ty Croes. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

....A series of Sonic booms heard over Cornwall last night - the first time since Concord stoped flying in over the county .... Sounds like you had a great day! Wyvern
The airbox mod was simple, says he who watched someone do it, even I could do it hacksaw blade was the weapon of choice, a pair of pliers and a file. Roy5965 did it as I watched explaining what he did as he went as that was quicker than explaining it for me to understand Easy enough mod hardest part was the removal of the airbox itself but as we had most of the front end out including the cowling under the fan gave us more space to wiggle the airbox out, the air on pipe gets in the way. The changes in the defenders performance by doing that, the new intercooler, hoses and the mid pipe replacement is amazing, the exhaust note is a little deeper and sounds much nicer. Gary from Alive now has the ecu files from the Defender and will look at them and suggest what needs tweaking to bring together all the tweaks and mods listed above to give more torque etc. The drive is very grin inducing and when Cal said to me your Defender sounds noisier I grinned even more Previous intercooler stored safely in my garage for you 2015 HT XS 90 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |
