There are four Torx/Star bolts on my crossmember, a pair either side. I am fitting bumperettes but do not have the right sized tool. Before I head down to my friendly garage and ask them to whip them off for me, any idea what they're for? Will I need to take the bumperettes down and pop them on immediately or can I come home once the bolts are off and not expect anything to fall off? Advice appreciated, ta.
They can be seen on the photo.... Click image to enlarge Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

And there was me thinking that they were part of the seat belt fixings for the rear load space seats

Hi Brendan, thanks. Just to confirm that you are referring to the four Torx bolts on the crossmember, not the pairs on the White bodywork. Not wholly clear on my first photo, this photo may be better. It's the two bolts, very bottom left of the crossmember, just above the exhaust. Ooops fun and games of the internet/phone conversations, understanding exactly what people mean
Those two on the crossmembers are for seat belt brace bar to rear cross member. On our white 90 they have been replaced with hexagonal headed stainless bolts. It might be worth your while getting a set of torx bit drivers which fit into a 6mm/1/4" socket. Probably less then 10 euros for a set. Would still suggest you clean/paint/waxoyl rear member whilst you are doing it. Brendan |

really you want proper socket torx set as doubt you will undo them with a 1/4 bit driver , they a m10 thread so in normal hex head bolt would be 17mm , bit too much for 1/4 drive tools

Thanks again Brendan. The bumperettes come with SS hex head bolts. Will follow advice on cleaning and touching up my crossmember.... Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

If you undo both of those bolts remember that there is a double spacer that is placed in from the side.

If you do take them off you will probably find they are a complete and utter pain in the backside to undo (They certainly were on our 05 plate model). give them a good soaking with some kind of penetrating fluid before attempting- I will be replacing the ones on ours when the weather improves!

What do these 4 bolts do again the 2 at each end of the cross member in the picture (above the exhaust)? Ive noticed my friend doesn't have them on his and I need new ones as they are knackered. Anyone know the part numbers?

They hold the end of the seatbelt mount on models with rear seats. If you don't have rear seats, you won't have these bolts or setscrews.
