Yes, pretty shocking. I've got a full set of new bilsteins going in, plus rear ARB, so will do all bushes at the same time. Decided after a lot of advice on the forum to go OEM. Monsieur Le Grenadier

I find that (genuine) rear bushes typically last only about 25k miles. Genuine seem to be much better than aftermarket, too.

If that's the case, there must be quite a number of vehicles out there with owners who don't know/care or aren't mechanically minded, with shot bushes. That's probably no more than a two year window for most, average usage? Monsieur Le Grenadier

I generally replace them annually, just before the MOT (but typically I do 25k between MOTs). They're very cheap to replace and it's good to have new parts on for the MOT, it makes the vehicle look cared-for.

At least they aren't expensive but it's more of an annoyance more than anything having to do them time wise.
Makes you wonder LR or anywhere else could use it to develop a more expensive job out of it if so one was not aware of what the problem was. Change a couple of bushes pay a few hundred pounds and done. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

Just coming back to the original question, almost, what's the consensus on rear half shafts on a 110?
Are the Bearmach/Britpart one piece ones up to the job on a 110? It tows a boat regularly, and then goes offroad/low box to launch and recover it, but that's about as extreme as it gets. I’m about to try the blue box one piece half shafts, even though it appears too early days for people to have seen potential early wear.
Question - should you use Loctite on the 5 flange bolts? I read that you can expect there to be Loctite in there when you remove the bolts, but haven’t read that you should reapply it. Advice welcome, Matt |

Loctite is not required if you do them up to the correct torque. Darren

I suppose it depends on the quality of the weld between shaft and flange, and the quality of the shaft itself, there’s very little to them otherwise. So if the shaft and flange or no less worse than OE, and the weld is good, well.....should be fine. I’m considering them. Or this more Grenadier over simplifying? If they're welded give them a miss. Single piece shafts should be forged in one piece.
