So I spent my day, the morning at least, replacing the indicator stalk.
All is working good now. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Regards Adam Loving The Duchess The Defender 110 TD5 XS My Defender story - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic64005.html |

Tested stage 1 tune in combination with the new gear box & transfer case from Ashcroft. Quite easily ran up to 90+ mph

I used mine as a mobile work platform to put the Christmas lights in a tree at my parents and then put their LED Tree on the porch.

Finally completed this over the last few days and I’m really happy with it.
Somehow with the Puma Defender I just can’t see enough behind me for parking – must be some kind of optical illusion as it’s exactly the same dimensions as the 300Tdi and I had no problems there 🙂 Anyway, fairly straightforward to fit – The ‘Garmin BC™ 30 Wireless Backup Camera’ is powered by the reversing light with a small transmitter unit tucked away behind the rear left speaker. For the Head unit (Garmin Sat Nav) I dropped the power cable with inline receiver behind the dash. The cigarette lighter type plug also converts from 12V to 5V - so I’m using a 12V cigarette lighter socket with a flylead hooked up to a fuse tap. All tucked up by the fuse box so nicely out of sight. Not a bad setup and works really well – unit switches between Sat Nav and camera as soon as you stick it into reverse. No more crossing fingers and winging it when parking ![]() I also managed to pick up a used SVX type Garmin mount but I'm not sure I fancy drilling the 2 holes in the dash - maybe another day..... ![]() ![]() ![]() Andy... 24Heuer, I have exactly the same system in mine and really pleased with it, good picture clarity too.
I also had the original SVX mount and tried it with this screen but the size and weight of the screen on the SVX mount meant it kept tipping forward if I went over and uneven road surface (living in Cornwall that’s every road surface ![]() And yes I did drill the two holes to try it. ![]() 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |

Ha! Sulisuli, good info - thanks.
I think I'll be sticking with the windscreen mount for now then ![]() It has totally changed my parking experience btw - parallel kerbside parking in the dark was easy last night! ![]() Andy... Edinburgh, Scotland http://24heuer.com |
