Sounds like the seal has given up on the master cylinder and needs replacing. You can get an overhaul kit comprising of a new O ring and seal. Not a hard job to do, just clean the cylinder and remove any burring before putting in new O ring

I was in there on Saturday, you need a mate to hold the clutch pedal down while you undo nut 3 on the drawing. You will need a ratchet spanner to get that off.
The lid should have a gasket, this must be to keep water out of the car, its expensive too ( £18 ) i just used some silicon seal. Not a bad job really, just fiddley. May pay to remove the bonnet. |

Paul, did you replace the cylinder or go for the repair kit? Im thinking of just replacing the cylinder. Life is not a rehearsal!

I was in there to change the pedal spring.
But looks ok to take part, all obvious and fairly easy to get to. |

About 3hrs. Took a while to get the pedal box out- awkward. Took a while to bleed and adjust the clutch, other than that pretty straightforward. Tip of the day - remove the bonnet for access. Life is not a rehearsal!

Have you done the slave too? Some advice is to do both as they wear out at the same rate
