Thumbs Up So how did they reckon the fault? bench test?

I suggest you do a good clean up of all your fuel lines including the tank before you install the new bits. Then use the 200cc/tank of 2-stroke FB spec (synth 2 stroke is quite expensive), and drain water from the fuel filter every month or so.

Thumbs Up

Don't think FB spec is good for the Puma. Needs to be FC as I have been told the Puma has a catalytic converter. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

It is back
Very Happy Got my 130 back from the dealer - they decided to change all 4 injectors, and it runs better than ever. Sure it still sounds like a Ford....

Thumbs Up . Now take care of them. Drain regularly any water from the collector and use (if you want) the 2-stroke "additive". Puma 110" SW

I will take care of them - and use 2 stroke. I am not going to have them changed again, it was not warranty work, and all in all with filterchange etc. it was too close to 3.000 eur.
Now the only little problem is, that the injectors need to be "fine" adjusted - they needed an update on their computer to do it - do not know how much it changes the way the engine is running.

2 Stroke
I know it is a bit off topic, but today I added a dash of 2 stroke when putting gasoline on my old 88´´, wauw what a difference - the engine sounds sooo much better Thumbs Up thanks for the advice - it sure works on petrolengines as well.

Mine is on 130.000 km now - and a broken engine - hole in one piston probably due to injector not working properly - make sure it is changed in time…

I do not think you need to worry - my injectors was changed at 45.000 km… now it is on 130.000 km. Think i noticed a faint knocking again for the last 5.000 km - but only when cold - thought nothing of it - until now Big Cry 88 Ser. 3 1980 -sold

I haven´t changed it yet. I can get a transit engine for around 2.000 eur - but there is 4 different types of engines - still haven´t figured out which one is the right Confused 88 Ser. 3 1980 -sold

Update on my engine - ALL 4 pistons cracked - piston on cylinder one has a fine 15 mm. hole right through - no wonder it was smoking like h… Can´t help wondering if my engine was one of them who should have been changed? New injectors at 45.000 due to knocking on startup and now 4 dead pistons at 130.000 ??
New original pistons is about 600 € ex vat. a piece Big Cry in Denmark - anyone know of any supplier that delivers parts one would dare to use - hate to think of changing them again because of poor quality.

Or alternatively the engine code for the transit engine that fits in the defender - seems to be 4 different types.

Best regards

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy New engine fitted - finally!! Found one with 66.000 kms on the clock - car was wrecked. It runs better than my old engine ever did. Now after 1000 km I am just starting to imagine that the engine have developed a knocking sound - gonna try with tinfoil around my head first…..
Question is - how much does pump calibration and injector learning affect the engine? I run with the original ecu - just plugged in new engine and drove off without problems - do I need to have it plugged in and have all the calibration etc. done?. No remap or similar - never again.. Sad
