Why not integrate the "German" Defenders from this link:
http://www.blacklandy.eu/blboard/forum/sho...schenwelle

They come from the same factory and suffer the same problems, don't they? Wink

The Germans expose the same data ...
Honestly, who could ever speake against eavesdropping in this urgent case Mr. Green

Any suggestions of things to look for or known trends in the failures, please mention it.

Not exactly, but I would be interested to see a version of the charts with the non-failures included as well (say in green) Thumbs Up

+1 for that.
I'd be happy to provide translations/conversions of the data, because I really like the chart here.
Just let me know.
I might even ask the German guy for permission afterwards Wink

Hi Macfrank,
Thanks for the offer, but I've just spent the last hour sorting the blacklandy data into the same format as my spreadsheet!

I didn't ask permission as it's available for all to see freely on the Internet. Whistle
I will of course drop them a message and tell them where to find our results.

APT,
I'm working on that too, the "original still going" chart.
Next updates on findings will be after I've uploaded the latest responses fron D2, and looked at the German data.

With approx 120 responses total from both forums, it may take a while to work through.

Cheers,
Jason

Ben's 45,000 miles with Ashcroft is the highest so far.
People generally haven't been reporting how long they've lasted.

Unless that's 45.000 - 38.000, only 7.000 miles! It's getting late... Laughing

First result from both surveys combined, total of 123 vehicles. 78 2.4's and 45 2.2's

2.4 models still running with the original shaft.
42 out of 78 = 54%

Good work DSC.

50% failure rate for such a simple part is fairly damning. Shocked Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....
