Yeah that's what I thought, hopefully it won't come to a replacement head but if it has cracked then it'll be replaced rather than repaired

If my head turns out to be ok then I'll gasket match it and have it chemically cleaned. If there is any doubt then Turner it is

Bad news about the head.. hopefully it won't be off the road too long... you will need to sell a few more adjustable vents to pay for a nice head if it needs one... 1993 200Tdi Defender 90

Hey Grafty,
First off let me just say… "Nice 90"! - Honestly have to say it's one of the best I've seen. ![]() I have a question about a bit of the conversation from back in 2016. You said:
My question is… How did you do that? It looks amazing (like factory). Thanks in advance. |

Thanks Chris
![]() The warning lights are made by scanning the original warning panel and then cleaned up and making a complete black and white contrast on the computer. This leaves you with a black and white image of the original warning lights. I modified a couple of the redundant ones to be front fog warning and cruise control. (I also modified the fuel warning light to have an arrow to show which side the fuel filler is on.) Then I printed out the modified panel on over head projector film. The contrast wasn't enough so I then went over it with a very fine Sharpie. This is then placed behind a light smoked Perspex panel that is cut to size ![]() 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Well things have been quiet here for a while. The Range Rover is now my daily drive and so the time has come for surgery to begin on the defender.
I am waiting for the locking pins to arrive and then the head will be off. Currently everything is stripped in preparation ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge As a side note I'd like to show off the condition of my cam lobes.
