Picked up some new side steps last week to replace the badly rusting ones (even though the powder coaters said I wouldn't have to worry about rust again )
Click image to enlarge Started the strip down to paint them properly, then I'll dinotrol the inside completely and probably put helicopter tape on them so they should last a bit longer hopefully. Click image to enlarge I'll try and get some colour on tomorrow and if the weather holds out I'll get them finished this week for fitting next weekend. Sorry I can't remember how much it cost as it was a few years ago, I had mine blasted then zinc coated and powder coated and the company that did it said I wouldn't have to worry about rust anymore if i were you I'd either get yours stripped then hot dip galved or buy some new and really go to town on them. Also you can get stainless steal ones which should last too. Ray

I prefer this style too and they came up at a good price at the right time I used 2 pak aerosol cans to do it, they aren't cheap but you can get any colour you want and they should be a bit more hard wearing. Is your new one that bad? Ray

Looking good ray nice job. Cheeky question but when you bought your new steps did you keep your old ones as I am after one of the black rubber step bits to replace one on my steps as it has a big chunk out of it. If do you do have a spare let me know how much you want for it.
Cheers Andy |
