If it's anything like the Puma it'll have two side locking tabs, if you can get to the rear and push them in they should release.
Or if it's got a 4 hole key pattern on the front buy ISO DIN. keys, they are under a £5. You can make your own, but often not strong enough and not even worth the hassle. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

I would imagine it's the BMW connector which has a strange slide and lock type connector.
The outer piece slides to one side which unlocks and partially removes the plug 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

I remember having similar problems with mine nearly 10 years ago. I ended up removing the whole section around the radio and manually operating the release mechanism.
I'm sure it was obvious, but only once I'd ripped the whole thing apart. |

Mud stuff sell the adaptor you need but it's basically an older BMW radio connector. I'm sure Halfords would have it 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
