Hi all,
Sorry for open this post again but my blood is boiling!! I have 2008 90 SWSE and went many times to dealer with many of thoses symptoms described in this post. 1) knocking noise in engine when start, if you put pressure on clutch for seconds it disappear: they said that,s normal and was front promshaft. 2) crancking starter motor and block of ignition switch. They changed in warranty: turbo( blowing a lot), brake master cylinder( loose a lot of oil), and more than 10 parts that I don,t want to remember because there was a discussion in each one of them. My question is that if I go again with this "recalls"(for me the most important is the two described above) and my car is between those frame and engines numbers, even if my car is out of warranty, Should they take charge of the repair of the car??. I,m in Spain( where every thing is normal), Thanks Pd: I'll be for months in London next year, do you think is better there?? |

I have only received one recall and it was for a seal which may leak and I think this would effect the brake I think parking brake. I have a 2009 Defender 110.

A bit of a thread revival here after many years but I have been reading info regarding the Sump recall.
As some of you may know, mine has developed a leak, however, thinking about it I cannot ever remember a Sump recall being done or requested. That being said, I was not the first owner 2007 - early 2010 @12k. Is there a way of checking at all? There was a seatbelt bolt and handbrake one I can remember but not sump related. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

The sump wasn't actually a recall, you had to ask for it to be done. If you didn't ask, it won't have been done.

Here you go. Click image to enlarge You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

The dealer who used to service my 07 Puma 110 SW asked me if I wanted the sump replacing, I don’t think I got an official recall as such but they were happy to do it for free, I declined as the vehicle was mainly used on the road with little in the way of off road.
