Long time no see! That must have been some heavy resding
When I put the alcantara on I stupidly didn't start in the concave corners. This ment I had to stretch it into them. This seemed fine and it stuck well, however, when I got it back from the paint shop all of the corners had lifted and won't go back down I have a plan B through 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Haha. I meant that I would design a front dirt defender. But if you want to do it be my guest a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

Today has been very frustrating. I started with what should have been a simple thermostat replacement and have ended up with almost every coolant hose off the engine
When I removed the engine cover the EGR cooler return pipe broke (it has gone extremely brittle - like dried spaghetti). As it is rarely disturbed I hadn't discovered it until now. To make a bit more room for the thermostat change I removed the turbo to intercooler boost pipe, lucky I did as I found this has been rubbing on the thermostat to water pump pipe and caused enough of a rub on the coolant pipe for it to need replacing. Then I decided I would give the engine a bit of a clean as I hadn't in a while and all of the covers were off so I could access it all. I then noticed that the front cam cover was weeping and needs replacing Anyway so I thought as there was now absolutely no coolant in the system I may as well get the webasto fitted. That has been the only thing that went right! To top it all off there are feet of snow outside and I can't go and play in it 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

i hate when you get days like that, when everything that can go wrong does! I normally just down to tools and leave it to the next day. Then things start to go better, Are you doing a picture install of the webasto fitted ? Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I know! Unfortunately I don't give up when I should
As we have another couple of inches of snow forecast it doesn't look like much work will be happening tomorrow. I'll get some more pics then of the webasto install 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Webasto... Mmmmm.. heat... I think I'd like one of those.. I've resorted to fitting an old sock over the gear knob.. it's an alloy one so it's freezing in this weather..... Many moons ago I fitted a Kenlowe hot start to my TD 90.. that was pretty good although it had to be plugged into the electricity to run..
Sounds like you've had one of 'those' days.. at least you've found faults before they caused you problems... looking forward to seeing Webasto fitting pics.... 1993 200Tdi Defender 90 |

I've never thought of putting a sock on my knob.......
Mines not metal though so that's probably why I'm looking forward to texting the defender and then arriving at it nice and warm! It'll also be able to heat the coolant on a cold start so will get up to temperature quicker 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

When my knob was silver i found the best thing was an old ipod cover but i went back to the original knob's and they are good in the hot or cold weather and don't have to worry about the coldness anymore 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.
