"If it ain't broke don't fix it" comes to mind... WHEN it does brake, I can justify it to the wife as an 'upgrade'... just remember to leave it broken for a few days to annoy her.. Yes but you didn't use the term 'engine coolant' did you, you just said don't put 'antifreeze' in your screenwash. If you're going to be a pedant, you need to get your terminology correct. Antifreeze isn't engine coolant, but engine coolant and screenwash are both antifreeze. Click image to enlarge I'm actually tempted to find an old banger, just to see what it actually does. |

How many people top up their brake fluid reservoir when the screenwash runs out....
I did stop someone from doing that once..... It's probably why most cars these days everything is covered in plastic covers under the bonnet. |

Thanks to all. I received the new washer jet off eBay. Was in a Bearmarch package from the seller.
Anyway, I detached ( with a little engineering!!! ) the threaded part off the new assembly, and managed to click the new nozzle onto the stub sticking out the front of the bulkhead. Little touch of glue and all sorted. and I now have a good washer mix to hopefully stop any more freezing water 2015 90 XS Santorini Black |

Therein lies your problem... by seperating the two parts you have weakened the female part which will cause it to pop off sometime in the future. The nozzle part can be bought seperately from LR and will stay on longer.

Just been reading though this thread.
I have a new genuine washer jet to go on, and centre dash removal is no problem for me as I'll have it out anyway soon. I have the whole new assembly, obviously the water pipe needs to come off first. However, after that the retaining nut is rather difficult to get at. What have you all been using to remove and re-tighten the nut? Looking at it with the ducting pipes in the way, I don't think a ring spanner would fit in in there. A deep socket with a UJ might however at an angle. I did try remove the HU rear support screws to remove that instead but LR seemed to have the most ridiculous fixing system for that. Plastic screws and rivnuts that spin if I remember rightly. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

Remove the HU rear support and bin it (it's useless), then work through the radio aperture. Use a deep socket or crowfoot socket.

Thanks Blackwolf -I have those so I’ll give that a go.
On the day I took a look at it with the dash out it looked a bit of a pain so I didn’t bother on that occasion. I will be taking the centre dash out again shortly so I’ll have the opportunity to get it done. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |
