A good 4 hours for us we're not committing yet, but will try and make it if things go to plan Will you donate your bed? Potentially be a good stopover point. 9 hours for fish and chips is a little excessive
Still waiting to visit Gary with the blue one, but the interior is where I want it. 18" black twisted wheels would suit it well, but it's looking like it'll be the workhorse as Zoe seems reluctant to let me have my green one back |

Today has been a mixed bag. Had to go into town today (30 mile round trip) so had a chance to test the mods.
I'll get the bad news out of the way first, the wipers aren't great when its constant rain they're fine (no different to normal) however when it's light rain then they are jerky. I think it's the aforementioned thinner pressed steel part flexing. For now the standard springs are going back in until I can shorten the Range Rover arms. The good news is that the lower heater vent nozzle Mk2 (as yet not unveiled) work an absolute treat, I would sat that the levels of heat are nearly on a par with a puma, after 5 minutes of driving I found myself turning the heater down I can only assume that this is because the hot air is actually blowing onto you rather that warming up the floor mats. they also work very well at demisting the side windows I also bought all the fluids today so will be doing a full fluid service this week. I've already done the brake and clutch so it's just coolant, engine oil and transmission oils to do 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Hey Gratfy,
Could it not be that the wiper motor just cannot cope with the additional friction of the wipers on the dry glass ? Awesome to read that the improved heater nozzles work very well. Peter, Defender 110 StaWa - Td5 Defender 110 HCPU - Puma Defender 90 Soft Top - Td5 |

I'm not sure Peter, on dry glass the wipe speed doesn't seem much slower, I think that it comes from the rubber on the blade flipping from one direction to the other. Hopefully the thicker range rover wiper arms will fix it, if not then I'll just have to go back to standard 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

an idea for you grafty, you know the panel that has the front heater controls, I have seen on ebay that you can buy for extra switches,
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RDX-Side-Pod-fo....l4275.c10 they seem to fix very, very poor, but i think its to do with it missing the main lip and also the holes dont really line up with the controls etc. maybe you could do a better product? just to tidy that bit area of the dash Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

Yeah could do somthing like that, although I'm not sure the finish would match the dash as well as the blow moulded one.
If there is enough interest I'll make some kits up for the lower heater vents 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

I think that one is inject moulded used with ABS plastic, (what I use at work for Nissan) That gives it the texture finish.
I dont think it would bother anyone really about the dash match finish as long as it was good, and the unit was strong. Id be up for one of your kits grafty Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |
