Having got my 110 back from the dealer (Roger Young in Saltash - 10/10 for service and support) I handed back the 'estate car' that I have been using for the last week (Disco Sport) - I like the speed limiter that kept me right when in potting around towns and villages!
Click image to enlarge I have now started to fit the new parts that arrived recently Click image to enlarge Diesel powered planar air heater and under cubby box mount from our german sponsor, Nakatanenga Glove box conversion from MSS, with new USB plugs to be fitted in the glove box And a Panasonic DAB radio with aerial splitter and bluetooth hand free with aux and USB links to be fitted in the glove box Started on the radio and its in and works really well with the aerial splitter that picked up DAB in the backwoods of Cornwall first time! I modified the bolts in my Mantec wheel carrier so I can grease the hinges easily. I saw that the Masai carrier comes like this, which gave me the idea. Hole drilled down the centre of the bolt, tapped for a grease nipple and cross drilled about half way down.
Click image to enlarge They seem to work well, with grease oozing out of the hinges after a few squeezes with the grease gun. Click image to enlarge And the nipple is hidden under the standard cap, which keeps it out of the elements. Click image to enlarge 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

OK so full service, new Steering damper, Poly PanHard rod bush, new drive flanges, Spacers on. Love the stance... feels like a new truck also, and the lock is better
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Then today I thought... I have some dirt defenders somewhere I bought off a forum member ages ago... and I did, just fronts but for now better than nothing. (found in a bag in my Sankey trailer) So need rears now Click image to enlarge |

130 did me proud at the weekend towing and launching the RIB. Picture courtesy of Matt110
130 definitely feels more planted, longer wheelbase helps over our 90 I normally use to do this! Click image to enlarge |

took mine away for a weekend camping a couple of weeks ago
Click image to enlarge This was the first real test of the LS conversion and it was pretty much faultless. Until the Thursday night we left it had done about 250km with the longest run being about 30ks. It did 275km each way with the only issue being it runs a bit warmer than I would like so I will swap the rad shortly. Its a different world from the remapped TD5. 400BHP makes it effortless everywhere! Cabin Air Heater fitted and running - took about one full day and started with no problems even with my limited mechanical skills and small tool kit.
The only small issue was the landrover fitted sub woofer mounted on the back of the cubby box cable that had to be re-routed from under the box to the side, , and then an hour or so searching for an english version of the heater control manual on the internet. Fuel and battery tie ins were simple, I was able to use available mountings on the chassis with out any drilling required. The only drilling needed was to make new holes in the bottom of of the cubby box to mount on the top of the heater frame. It took 3 starting cycles to prime the pump and start the unit. Next job is the glove box unit ! Hi Steve Sadly no - this is a brand spanking new Planar one supplied from Germany ... the one I had from you is still in the grey 110 and going great guns when I sold it ... I would have loved to have kept it but time and work just got in the way so it has gone to a new home - However this unit is very very similar in its looks and time will tell how it performs against the Airtop ... Awesome work, does the kit come with everything to fit to the defender? it's something I've been thinking of doing for a while. |

Hi AJC Yes - had the kit shipped from Nakatanenga in Germany directly and it had everything included - the site was in german so took a little bit of time to translate each part but delivered in good order and fitted with no additional parts needed . Make sure you specify you have a defender puma and then chose which controller you would like - I have the one with a timer on it so as I can start the heater in the mornings when its cold. Next job is 2nd battery and split charger ...
