Didn't do anything to the Defender but dropped my son off at Pirbright Barracks to start his Army career.

Over the last coupe of days actually, but:
Fitted Nolden LED Headlight with position light, courtesy of leeds (Thanks Brendan & Barbara, they are fantastic!). Fitted Melvill and Moon seat covers front and rear, (something I have been meaning to do for a couple of years). Decided to strip down and paint the mirror arms as the paint had stripped off and the arms were attempting to mimic the rest of the car by turning grey. Gave the car a clean, Inside and out for a change, the first Vacuum out its had in about a year ..........poor spiders)! Popped to see Paul at Patriot in Bedford. Have been meaning to get the 130 rack stripped of its powder coat for a while. I like the colour but it's too impractical dragging tents and gear on and off. Whipped the rack off and then got chatting about a x member mount for my hi lift. 2hrs later and we were now sporting the prototype Patriot mount! The guys are proper legends and willing to engineer anything.
Paul also spotted one of the front light guards was missing a screw head. That was LR's answer to a riv nut that was spinning He decided to drill all 4 of them out which took a while as two were seized. Replaced them with alu riv nuts and bolts. Lovely people and lovely service. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 1951 80" S1 2.0 1995 110 300TDI 1995 90 300TDI |

Yesterday I changed the wheels and tyres from 235/70/16 to 265/75/16 on some nice black boosts! Very happy as the Speedo now reads correctly and the engine doesn't sound as strained. Plus, in my opinion, t looks miles better without the tiny trolley wheels it was running on!
The one thing that is bugging me though is the difference in colour between the rear side panel and the rest of the car Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 1995 300TDi Hardtop Nato Green |
