Fear not! Have given it a touchless clean today. Will be doing any paint correction and sealing after it's had a few weeks to harden 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

So now the grand reveal has taken place I will fill in the build
Day 1. It started on Saturday afternoon with a 4 hour strip down... Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge End of day one -the scary part? 4.5 hours for two of us to strip (And that was being careful!) Day 2. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Built up the new rear tub by swapping the lights etc from the old one and then coating the new one in Dynamat before installing new carpets and a door thresh from YRM Day 3. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Got my defender back from the paint shop ready to install new tub and windscreen frame. All new seals have been used with extra care taken for them to be a good fit. No leaks here! Day 4. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Sides and roof on, then off to Dave at VGS for panoramic glass to be fitted and heated windscreen to be re-installed Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Rear seats installed too Click image to enlarge Day 5. Doors installed Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Day 6. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Wings installed and door tops wrapped in black Click image to enlarge Day 7. Many hours and lots of hard work later. With the last few bits finished off it's pretty much complete. All that is left to finish off is the interior trim and headlining. But before that even more sound proofing! Incredible!! Looks great.. Liking the new look
Can I ask what springs you have on? I see it's lowered and you have Bilsteins, which I have, but I can't decide on which springs to change to... 1993 200Tdi Defender 90 |

Thank you!
The springs are -2 inch triple rate progressive springs from IRB (Which I think are the same as the ones sold by Ürban Truck) They are a very good improvement over standard and provide a much smoother ride over imperfections in the road 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

just for a little more OCD calming. Every nut, bolt and washer used on the rebuild was stainless. And everywhere where aluminium met steel a nylon washer was used to slow/stop electrolytic corrosion.

money well spent there grafty, what was the kit you used for the window screen? I am sure I saw a harness with an OEM like switch that goes in a blank under the clocks,
Also I think your landy would look good with the KBX grille and surrounds in gloss black too, Just to add that extra touch I think Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

Screen is a genuine one (Pilkington) wired into a mobilecentre kit which is identical to the factory setup when installed.
I'm not a massive fan of the kbx grilles, I'm going to get my standard ones painted gloss black to go with the bumper and snow vents 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Got the stainless door strips fitted to the front doors today. Fitting was a doddle, the only thing that slowed me slightly was the two Philips head bolts at the front which I drilled out as the head was chewed up too much for a x head bit.
They really finish of the door opening, although I added some black tape (soon to be replaced with vinyl). You can see the strip with the door closed which bugged me.
