The only important thing with politics is to go and vote. The rest of it is entirely subjective and personal. If you don't vote, you can't moan. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

I find timewasters so frustrating, people who message you saying whats your best price for X,Y or Z and then ask to pay less then they are worth and then are too rude to message you back when you reduce the price. Hey ho their loss go and pay the full price elsewhere you cheapskates

Good post lambert.the.farmer.
Can I suggest to all who find it too much bother to vote to get a postal vote. I got one when I worked away. Now my wife and parents do postal voting. It saves having to turn out after work (or just turn out in my parents case as they are retired). I have skimmed through the Norfolk results. 54% turnout was the highest (and unusual) of any Division. Most were in their 20's. That's one in five voters. Pretty pathetic. The lowest was 19%. Hardly worth the poling station staff turning up. As lambert.the.farmer says. Don't vote, then don't moan. I vote and I will keep moaning ![]() |

Millions of people have died fighting to get, or retain the right to vote, and in some countries they still are.
Their struggle means my right to vote is a duty to vote. Period. As for Diane Abbott. Oh dear....... ![]() |

Registered for my postal vote also, but for the first time in my life, I dont really want to vote for any of them. Its no wonder so many dont bother these days, but as said before, I feel its my duty to cast my vote.

It just seems very odd and wrong to me to have any say on the running of a country one doesn't live in. I wouldn't consider it right for myself to help select a country's government if I didn't live there as it doesn't affect me it only affects the residents. Ray

You'll be pleased to learn that we lose the right to vote after 15 years so this will be my last time unless I ever moved back. That doesn't mean we then gain the right to vote in France, we don't. We can vote in local French elections just not national. Personally I think we should be able to vote in the country we live and pay tax in, but it doesn't work that way unless you become a citizen which is not some thing I would choose to do. I love France, its a great country, I have a far nicer lifestyle here, but I don't want to be French, I'm British and Irish. Please don't say that I should live in Britain or Ireland then because that's just daft and I'll never accept or agree with that nationalistic way of thinking.

I agree that if you live and pay tax in any country then you should be allowed a vote there, I just don't think people should be allowed a vote in countries in which they don't live. As for living in countries other than where you were born that's up to the individual and the governments policy in the country they wish to live it doesn't bother me at all. Ray
